How they met: Sammi moved out to Virginia in August of 2014 and met Dylan there. He went back to school in North Carolina that year but transferred to Sammi’s college the next fall and the two instantly became best friends!
How he proposed: “We had just moved back to my home state of Iowa and were knee deep in renovations on our new house. My family suggested going to Cedar Ridge Winery for a happy hour unwind on Memorial Day Weekend. We all got dressed up because we were "taking family photos". Little did I know, this was all a scheme. After many pictures were taken, my mom suggested a different backdrop for a couple's shot. While getting positioned, I turned around and saw Dylan getting down on one knee. Surprise! He had had the ring since September so I may or may not have cut him off halfway through his speech saying, "YES just give me the ring already!"
Why did they choose Little Lights? “It was the most beautiful outdoor venue that fit our style that we could find in the entire eastern Iowa area!”
Any advice for future LL Couples? “You'd be surprised how many people cancel last minute. I would recommend having a small intimate ceremony with your closest friends and family. Don't stress about all the extra people you don't really want to be there! Don't stress and enjoy the planning process. Everything will work out and you don't want to look back and regret how much you stressed. At the end of the day, it is about you and your fiancé and you're getting married regardless!”
